Ashford Town Centre - Directions (ASHFORD IS NOW TWO - WAY)
The main ring road system at Ashford has changed recently and ASHFORD IS NOW TWO-WAY;
Also on the south side, there are road works where enlargement of the shopping centre is taking place.
Coming from Maidstone on the M 20:
Come off the M20 at junction 9… head to the town centre.
Come into Ashford via Maidstone road and get onto New Street via the Magazine Road roundabout.
(at the end of New Street, it is two way: left or right. (LIDL store is on your right – see pink line on map)
Note: If coming from the A 28 (Canterbury/ Faversham direction) it is advisable to use Magazine Road, at the fork in the road bear right - after the M20 bridge and traffic lights - rather than proceed bearing left to the Town centre, so as to approach from New Street. This will avoid the worst junction on the new system.
A. If you have a reserved space at the rear of the Temple:
Turn Left from near/side lane at Lidl.
Travel round past Charter House: at the next traffic lights, turn right down Station Road, filter right immediately and turn right across the box junction markings, follow the road round to the right and the car spaces (rear of the temple) are on the left at the end of the road before the next corner. (There are only 3 spaces but one is usually reserved for the PGM/ GS (or his rep) plus one for the Prov DC if attending. Once parked; walk round that road to the right, under the arch on the left, the Temple is immediately on the left. (see map) The sign to watch for is for "Park Street CP sign and Park Mall"
B To make your way to the only logical Car Park (time and distance wise) in Vicarage Lane
Turn Left from off/side lane at Lidl
Travel in an anti-clockwise direction, through the traffic lights, past the new shopping centre, and past Bank Street At the next junction (Church Road) turn left, up to the top of the road then turn right down Vicarage Lane. The public car-park is about 200 yards on the left of this one way street.
You need to pay up until 6.00 p.m. After that it is free
Exit via the north and follow the alley to High Street. Turn left then right into North Street. The Temple is at the end of that road on the right.
