Initiation for
Mr. Michael James Pitney
Our regular meeting held on 3rd April 2023 was an Initiation for Mr. Michael James Pitney.
W. Bro. Marc Terry (Worshipful Master) conducted the early part of the proceedings before inviting W. Bro Mick Smith was the candidate’s proposer to occupy the Chair of King Solomon to carry out the ceremony, which he did with feeling and sincerity.
W. Bro. Dennis Fordham, our acting Junior Deacon, was responsible for conducting the candidate around the Lodge, providing that most important reassurance to the candidate.
Our most recent Master Mason, Bro. Nathan Beaney, presented and explained the Working Tools in a most excellent manner, and he is to be congratulated on his presentation and delivery, a great example that should inspire our other younger brethren.
Bro. Peter Bowden-Rooke completed the occasion with a superb Charge to the Initiate.
On conclusion, the Worshipful Master W. Bro. Marc Terry was invited to be the first to congratulate Michael James Pitney, who welcomed him, on behalf of the brethren, into the South Kent Lodge. Acting Worshipful Master W. Bro Mick Smith then congratulated him followed by Bro Lee Rose his seconder.
He was then introduced to Bro. Peter Bowden-Rooke, the Lodge Mentor, who presented him with the Initiate's Guide and other important information, before taking his place in the lodge.
It was definitely a happy and enjoyable meeting from start to finish, not forgetting the festive board that followed, something Bro. Michael James Pitney will look back on as very special.
We all look forward to seeing him take his next step in Freemasonry.
