South Kent Lodge Ladies Night 2015
The South Kent Lodge Annual Ladies Night was held at the Ashford International Hotel, on Saturday 24th October 2015.
Our outgoing Master, W.Bro. Mick Smith, aka Miki Travis was accompanied by his wife Debbie.
The Toastmaster and Director of Ceremonies was in the very capable hands of W.Bro. Dennis Fordham.
There was also a multitude of great entertainment for everyone to enjoy.
To begin with we were treated to the amazing vocals of Sammy Lou, who effortlessly entertained before the start of the meal.
During the meal, W.Bro. Reg Millsom visited the tables to perform some close up magic.
At the end of the meal, Sammy Lou treated everyone to another set which again was enthusiastically received.
It was then time for the toasts, and W.Bro. Mick Smith proposed the Toast to the Ladies. He gave tribute to all the ladies and paid special tribute to his wife Debbie for all her support.
At this point, as is the usual tradition on such occasions, the Song to the Ladies was sung, this year by W.Bro. Reg Millsom.
Debbie was then presented with a bouquet of flowers, a gift from the Lodge.
Debbie then rose to give her response, which she did with her characteristic aplomb, reciting a poem entitled "The Peppermint Men".
There followed, a Cabaret by Fatman and The Tenor, alias Bro. Mike Jerome and Bro. Paul Kaye Jones. The audience was treated to a performance of comedy and serious singing, which Mike and Paul did in their own inimitable style, and it was certainly well received.
Finally, the guests were able to dance the rest of the night away to the sounds of our DJ, Bro. Clive Smith.
Thanks goes to everyone involved in organising the event and also to those who attended.
