Second Degree Passing for Bro. Russel King

Our regular meeting of 3rd February 2020 was a Second Degree Passing for
Bro. Russel King.
The whole evening was great from start to finish, beginning with a committed candidate who answered all his questions with confidence and clarity, which set the scene of what was to follow.
W. Bro. Dennis Fordham opened the lodge, then proceeded to carry out the early part of the proceedings before inviting W. Bro Mick Smith to occupy the Chair of King Solomon to carry out the ceremony, which he did with feeling and sincerity.
Bro. Terry Ervine, acting Senior Deacon, was responsible for conducting the candidate around the Lodge, providing that most important reassurance to the candidate and what a marvellous job he did Well done Terry!
Bro. Colin Burnikell continued with the same high standard in his presentation of the Working Tools.
The Ceremony was nicely rounded off with the explanation of the second-degree tracing board by Bro. Peter Bowden-Rooke, one of our younger members which he did in an explanatory manner to the enjoyment of all.
All in all, Bro. Russel and the South Kent Lodge had a very successful and memorable meeting, which was due not only to the commitment of all the brethren involved but most importantly to teamwork added to this was the a good balance of "masonic banter" which made the occasion more enjoyable without taking away the serious of the ceremony.
To round the evening off, Bro. Steve Legge received his Grand Lodge Certificate which was ably explained by W. Bro. Dennis Fordham.
